The Suez Canal Authority has introduced a new regulation that any vessel that refuses or is unable to have a mooring service on board will be subject to additional fees of US$5,000. This is in place of imposing a tugboat as stipulated in the SC Rules of Navigation. The change takes effect from 1st May 2024.

Dry bulk values have increased as Capesize earnings reach the highest seasonal level since 2010. Bulker sale and purchase has also been very active showing a c.35% year-on-year increase, with 33 Capesize sales concluded in February 2024 compared to just nine in February 2023.
